Youth Diversion

The Mob provides Youth Diversion Services for young people referred by the Northern Territory Police or courts in Tennant Creek and the Barkly region. Youth Diversion provides an opportunity for the young person to take responsibility for the harm caused by their offending and undertake diversion activities to help them understand the consequences of their actions, give back to their community and learn how to make better choices in the future.

In addition to its diversion activities the Mob provides a range of intervention activities to help prevent young people from reoffending after they leave diversion, these include: life skills development programs, cultural activities, social and recreational activities.

Youth are also given the opportunity to attend Cultural Camps with elders and the Mob’s annual Youth Leadership Camp.
