The Tennant Creek Mob delivers a range of Alcohol Action Initiatives for men and women impacted by alcohol and other drugs. Alcohol Action Initiatives are community driven solutions which aim to minimise alcohol related harm.

Men’s activities link older cultural leaders with younger groups of men to mentor them about their culture, land, heritage and provide hands on learning in traditional ways to make artefacts, bush humpies, food and water collection methods.
Seeing the Emu on the 50 cent coin and learning where it laid its eggs and how it is linked to the Milky Way made me want to learn more about my culture.

The Mob is currently producing a range of storybooks as part of its Alcohol Action Initiatives. The first four books includes: two cultural stories for preschool age children, a photographic history book of Tennant Creek in the 1960s,70s,80s and a personnel biography.
The scripts for the two children’s cultural storybooks written by Rosemary Plummer are being developed in partnership with Marntula Aboriginal Corporation.
