Youth Camps
Cultural Camps
The Mob provides Cultural and Leadership Camps for youth from Tennant Creek and the Barkly region.
Youth Cultural Camps bring cultural leaders together with youth to help them learn about their identity, land, kinship relationships and role within their family and community. During camps cultural leaders also teach the youth about the history of Aboriginal people in the region and traditional healing, hunting, gathering and survival methods.
Youth Leadership Camps
The Mob delivers annual Youth Leadership Camps in urban and rural settings to allow remote youth to experience other places and people. During leadership camps youth are exposed to different environments and role models who host discussions with them about issues impacting youth in their communities. They also learn about what career options are available to them in and out of their home communities, how to communicate effectively, and participate in leadership development activities to give them the confidence to lead change within themselves and their communities.
